Weekly Roundup #012
Guten tag! I'm a few weeks late in writing a round-up, but I've had my nose to the grindstone the last few weeks getting the Beyond Tellerrand 2025 title sequence ready, and I'm very happy to say that the titles went well over in Düsseldorf earlier this week! I had a blast 'performing' the titles live (I'll be doing a full separate post about how I made the titles soon) as well as giving a talk on the Monday evening.
It all seemed to go down well, and the crowd and fellow speakers were as lush as you'd imagine. Beyond Tellerrand founder and host Marc Thiele is the nicest man you could ever meet, and that kindness is a huge part of what makes BT such a great event. Great talks, great company, great venue, great city.
Playing the titles on-stage was a real thrill too. I was so nervous beforehand - the buttons of the OP-Z are really quite little so that's how I knew I was shaking a bit, it was hard to press those lil' fellas!
Thankfully all the tech worked and from then on (I played the titles twice each day; first thing then after lunch) I felt really excited to play them in a slightly different way, making full use of the OP-Z's 'punch in' FX to give it a bit of variety!
But I'll do a deep dive on all that real soon, and show off some more pics from the event etc etc.
In other news, I'm very excited to announce I'm an 'Official Gromit Unleashed 3' artist! The charity arts trail is hitting the streets of Bristol this summer and I am so stoked to be able to contribute to it again!
Once the trail is finish, all sculptures will then be auctioned off, with every penny going towards the incredible work that Bristol Children's Hospital does. ❤️ I can't wait to reveal my sculpture soon...
That BAFTA talk trip I mentioned a few updates ago, where myself and a bunch of wonderful creatives from the world of film, TV and games spoke at about the skills needed for those industries? Well, the video of all those chats has just been released, with those insights aimed at helping young people navigate their early careers. Do share it with any young folk or educators that you think would find it useful!
